ABOUT:
Delicious Huon Atlantic Tasmanian Salmon. Sea cage raised in the pristine waters of the Tasmanian Macquarie Harbour, Hideaway Bay (mouth of the Huon River) and areas around the East Coast of Tasmania.
Atlantic Salmon are raised in Tasmania, and is now often called Tasmanian Salmon to distinguish it from Atlantic Salmon raised elsewhere. Recognisable by their slightly smaller head and larger body.
Our salmon is flown from Huon (Tasmania) and delivered fresh. It is gutted and sold as whole fish and also filleted (by our filleting team) and sold as fillets.
The average size of the whole fish is quite large and weighs approx 4.5 kilos.
EATING:
Salmon is a premium table fish, great eating and is highly regarded by professional chefs. The fillets are a consistent pinkish red in colour, which turn a lighter pink when cooked and it has a medium quite distinctive flavour. Salmon is highly regarded for its beneficial health properties and high Omega 3 ‘Good Oil’ content. Most professional chefs would recommend the best way truly enjoy the taste of salmon is to eat it grilled (medium-rare) and crispy skin.

We have graded our products in sizes to reduce large variances in prices however, we cannot give precise weights at the point of sale in our online shop.
