In-store they are sold by the half dozen. Online they are sold by the dozen. Available in Medium or Large
This prized tasty morsel has been popular right throughout the ages records date from Roman Times, medieval days to modern day.
Pacific Oysters were introduced to Tasmania from their native Japan in the 1940’s and are now also grown in South Australia and in NSW.
They are grown in the cool waters of SA and TAS, favoured they take approx (18-24 months) to reach saleable size. They also have a more uniform shell size and shape. They are available year round but peak from April to September. They are sweet and creamy with a strong briny taste and smell.
Our oysters are harvested from the best farms in Tasmania. Harvests from oysters leases in the cool waters off Bruny Island in Tasmania’s south, the sparkling bays around the east coast and the remote waters of Smithton in the Tasmania’s northwest are just some of the areas that supply our oysters.
